At approx. 1900 hrs. commercial box 11-02 was struck for the machinery fire at St. Laurent Packaging Corp. on Pittman Road. Engine 112 was at Outing Ave and Mountain Road when they were added to the box. E113 responded from station and was the first supression piece on location. C13 arrived on location to report smoke showing from the building and assumed command. E113 manned the hydrant at the yard gate and the crew went to work shutting down the sprinkler system. E112 assisted T31 with ventilation. The fire was found to be extingushed by the sprinkler system, but due to heavy smoke conditions, units remained on scene for approx. 1 hour after command declared fire under control.
